Concert: BBC Proms
Date: Monday 20 July 2015, 1.00 pm Venue: Cadogan Hall, London SW1X 9DQ
The Cardinall’s Musick launches this year’s lunchtime series of Chamber Proms at Cadogan Hall with a programme celebrating the genius of Thomas Tallis. Forty of the finest consort singers in the country will gather to perform Tallis’s Spem in alium. Other highlights will include Tallis’s brooding setting of Suscipe quaeso and the luminous beauty of Videte miraculum. The programme will also include the world premiere of a new work by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, the first in what we hope will be a series of commissions from female composers. Cheryl was one of a handful of young female composers featured on Radio 3’s Composer of the Week series for International Women’s Day.
Booking opens on 16th May www.bbc.co.uk/proms
